Release Notes 1.12.4
Release Date: January 31, 2017
Important: A Conductor running 1.11.3 must be upgraded using a different package
than used to update 1.12.1. Please follow the instructions carefully on the download page to
acquire the correct installer package.
Note: A HIPswitch running 1.11 can only be updated to 1.12 with a Conductor
running 1.12 or higher. Update your Conductor before updating your HIPswitches from
1.11.

Fixes
ID | Component | Resolution |
---|---|---|
DEV-3733 | Conductor, HIPswitch 200w | The Conductor UI now properly displays data in | for a HIPswitch 200w.
DEV-4184 | HIPswitch | Fixes an issue where local devices on the overlay network could ping the shared network IP address of the HIPswitch. |
DEV-4206 | Conductor, HIPapp | Fixes an issue where removing the device IP of a HIPapp in the Conductor does not remove the address from the Windows Client. |
DEV-4212 | BaseOS | Patched security vulnerability CVE-2016-7039. Additional information is available at https://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2016-7039. |
DEV-4213 | BaseOS | Patched security vulnerability CVE-2016-8666. Additional information is available at https://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2016-8666. |
DEV-4235 | HIPswitch | Fixed an issue where downgrading a HIPswitch 100g from 1.12.x to 1.11.x would result in the loss of the cellular APN. |
DEV-4236 | Conductor | Fixed an issue when removing configuration information from a HIPapp that results in an error if the netmask field is left blank. The field now defaults to 255.255.255.0. |
DEV-4244 | HIPswitch | Fixed an issue when upgrading a HIPswitch 300v HA pair to 1.12.3 that caused the HIP process to become unresponsive on first boot after the upgrade. |
DEV-4273 | HIPswitch | Fixed an issue causing HIPswitches to take an excessive amount of time to detect stale network connections. |
DEV-4275 | Conductor, HIPapp | Fixed an issue where the Conductor user interface would stop responding when replacing a HIPapp. |
DEV-4343 | HIPswitch 100e | Fixed a memory that caused a HIPswitch to periodically reboot. |
DEV-4369 | Conductor | Fixed an issue where the MAC address of an auto-detected device would display incorrectly and could affect other functions, such as MAC address lockdown. |
DEV-4408 | HIPswitch | Fixed an issue where a HIPswitch could block IP broadcasts to 255.255.255.255. |
DEV-4428 | HIP Services | Fixed an issue where the HIP protocol caused an error under certain conditions when packets are exchanged with a peer. |
DEV-4430 | HIPswitch | Fixed an issue that allowed non-integer numbers in VLAN tags and MTU values in the port configuration section of the Conductor user interface. |
DEV-4432 | API | Fixed an issue where an API GET listing all HIP Services would not report a HIPserver correctly. |
DEV-4438 | HIPswitch | Fixed an issue using overlay NAT functionality in AWS that impacted traffic between devices. |
DEV-4463 | Conductor | Fixed an issue where the Conductor and browser would not sync correctly and require a browser refresh. |
DEV-4468 | Conductor | Fixed an issue where the device list displayed only devices with MAC lockdown disabled by default. |
DEV-4513 | HIPswitch | Fixed an issue with factory reset when an Ethernet expansion module is present. |
DEV-4565 | Conductor | Fixed an issue where sorting by IP address in the Device Group dialog displayed the sort order incorrectly. |
Known Issues
ID | Component | Description |
---|---|---|
DEV-1994 | HIPswitch | When modifying an existing Serial over IP configuration, you must reboot the HIPswitch to apply the new configuration settings. |
DEV-2022 | Conductor | After configuration setup completes on two HIPswitch Conductors in a High Availability pair, the Conductor user interface may not return to the Dashboard. Refresh your browser to return to the Dashboard. |
DEV-2224 | HIP Services | Prior to configuring a HIPswitch HA-pair, the secondary HIPswitch may auto-discover the primary HIPswitch's gateway IP as a device. Workaround: Once the HA pair is configured, navigate to the secondary HIPswitch, go to the Devices tab, and delete the erroneous device with the primary HIPswitch’s gateway IP. |
DEV-2417 | Conductor UI | The password reset email link defaults to the first web enabled interface, and will be successful only if an administrator configures the first interface with a publicly-facing default route. |
DEV-3342 | Conductor | When configuring a HIPswitch, the firewall settings page may become
unresponsive. Workaround: Refresh the browser and try the operation again. |
DEV-4028 | API | When making a POST call to /api/v1/people, the role attribute is set to viewer regardless of the role specified. |
DEV-4170 | Conductor UI | The Shared throughput and Overlay throughput graphs in the Graphs section of the Reporting tab may show a drop in traffic after a HIPswitch is rebooted until the next collection interval occurs. |
DEV-4188 | HIPswitch (Cellular) | In the Graphs section of the Reporting tab, several graphs are available to older HIPswitch 200g models with an Option Cellular card that are not applicable, such as LTE, CDMA, Cell temperature, etc. These graphs will not display data. |
DEV-4219 | Conductor UI | In the Graphs section of the Reporting tab, the CPU graph reports average system load over the past 5 minutes. This can display a value greater than 100% which indicates that the system is busy and the amount above 100% indicates an overload in terms of average number of processes waiting for the CPU. |
DEV-4234 | HIPswitch, Cellular | A HIPswitch 200g may take up to ten minutes to complete an upgrade process, reconnect to cellular, and come back online. |
DEV-4418 | Conductor UI | HIPswitch 100 series units do not support specifying VLAN tags in the Port assignment view. Additionally, you cannot specify an MTU in excess of 1500. |
DEV-4493 | Conductor | When using the Conductor user interface, a browser JavaScript exception may cause the interface to function incorrectly. If this occurs, click the refresh button in your browser. |
DEV-4494 | Conductor | Rebooting HIPswitches from the group Reboot menu may not display their offline status correctly. |
DEV-4507 | Conductor | In rare circumstances, a HIPswitch may stop responding to Check
Online requests, resulting in the HIPswitch appearing offline.
Workaround: Go to Settings and select the Restart IF-MAP button to fix the issue. |
DEV-4514 | Conductor | After a HIPswitch is factory reset, its devices may still appear in the Conductor user interface. Refreshing your browser will resolve the issue. |
DEV-4535 | Conductor | When upgrading an HA-paired standby Conductor, the Return to
Dashboard link is shown prematurely. Clicking the link results in a
broken link page. Workaround: Wait a few minutes and refresh your browser. |
DEV-4537 | Conductor | When demoting a master Conductor to standby, the processing screen might not
correctly update. Workaround: Refresh your browser. |
DEV-4573 | Conductor | Cloud HIPswitches may not display the correct icon in the user interface if they are on firmware version 1.12.3 or below. |
DEV-4581 | Conductor | Configuring a standby HA Conductor may take a significant amount of time. |
DEV-4588 | Conductor | When configuring a standby HA Conductor, the list of firmware updates present in the system on the standby might not necessarily be available if promoted to be the master. |
