Connect a HIPswitch by using a manually-configured URL

You can manually point a HIPswitch to the Conductor URL depending on your model. Follow the steps here to configure this type of connection. The default IP for a HIPswitch running in diagnostic mode is 192.168.56.3.

Note: For additional information about manually configuring a URL, see the Platform Guide for your HIPswitch model.
  1. Configure a computer to use DHCP to obtain an IP address and netmask, then connect the computer to port 2 of the HIPswitch.
  2. Power up the HIPswitch.
  3. Place the HIPswitch in diagnostic mode by pressing and holding the multi-purpose button for three seconds. The status LED will display a fast, steady blink pattern to indicate the HIPswitch is in diagnostic mode.
CAUTION: Do not continue pressing the multi-purpose button for more than three to five seconds as this will factory-reset the HIPswitch.
  4. In your web browser, navigate to http://192.168.56.3 to open diagnostic mode.
  5. Click Configuration, and select Conductor URL.

  6. Enter the Conductor URL in the Host field. Click Submit.

Note: You can also reboot turning theHIPswitch off and back on.
