Starting in version 2.1.3, HIPswitches now support the option of setting a default route on the overlay network. This can be set on a per HIPswitch basis under the Local Devices > Overlay Routes section.

Starting in version 2.1.3, HIPswitches now support the option of setting a default route on the overlay network. This can be set on a per HIPswitch basis under the Local Devices > Overlay Routes section.

Advantages of setting a default route on the overlay helps simplify network deployments and architectures where the HIPswitch's local devices are in multiple subnets more than one hop away.

CAUTION: If you set an overlay network default route on HIPswitches running versions prior to 2.1.3, it might cause internal routing issues, leading to the HIPswitch not reporting as online in Conductor.
