To create a Smart Device Group:

Select Devices
in the Conductor.

Select the Device groups tab and click Create Group...

Add a device group Name and optionally a
Description
-
In the Advanced Properties section, check Use
rules to add devices
Note: Once selected, a new Rules tab is added to the
create group dialog.
- If you want to add devices after they are created and accepted, check
Ignore auto-discovered devices until accepted. If
left unchecked, devices matching the DGR will be added when
discovered.
- If you want the SDG recomputed automatically when the rules have
changed, check Automatically recompute after rules
change. If left unchecked, You will need to recompute the
rule manually by navigating to Devices, clicking the drop-down to the right of your device group,
and selecting Recompute group.

Select the user role allowed to edit the Smart Device Group from the
Rule editor drop-down
Note: The Local Administrator role is selected by
default.
You can now select the Rules tab and begin adding Device
Matching Rules or click Save if you want to create the group
add rules later.
Note: Once a device group is changed to a Smart Device Group, you can no longer manually
add devices to the group. You can use the Devices tab
to view a list of devices added by the DMRs, but you cannot edit the list.
